Mollianna Matthews was Melissa's first born child. Melissa went into labor just over 24 hours after her due date. Molli's heartbeat dropped (Tuesday was at a healthy 165 and Thursday when Melissa arrived in labor was at a dangerously low 60), Melissa was then rushed into a (Code Red) Emergency C-Section. After MUCH effort by the doctors and nurses of Lourdes Hospital, Mollianna Mae was unable to be stabilized. Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (a serious condition in which a newborn breathes a mixture of meconium and amniotic fluid into the lungs around the time of delivery) was the cause of Mollianna's death.
